These are old songs, the bulk of which were written over ten years ago. They are a combination of auto-biographical and vague emotional story-telling; all of them are true to my experience in some way. Difficult to sing, they mostly come from a time in my own life I wish I could forget. However, what would forgetting do for me? The selfish chaos of my late teens and early twenties are a part of my story, whether I want them to be or not. Looking back I can see how far God has brought me.

We can’t go back in time and convince our young selves to make better choices. But, we can move forward as peacemakers, doing our best to live lives of integrity.

I still have much to learn.

And in the end this album is a monument to the grace and goodness that flowed in its wake.
