Lyrics
Well the monarch butterflies are flying South and I know why. The climate there is warmer this time of year. I can't grow wings by focusing real hard, but I can try. It gets a little easier when you are here.
So bathe my brow and kiss me goodnight. This fever won't break until it's light. You matched my tears and held my head tight as fevered dreams invaded my sight.
And I'll be flying South again some time real soon, and I know why. I feel warmer when I'm there. I can't summon you beside me here, but Lord, I can try. It's a little cold without you, dear.
So hold my hand and walk me to the door. You'd think we'd never said goodbye before. You left a note beside the dresser drawer. It makes me miss you just a little bit more.
And all the monarch butterflies are flying South and I know why. The climate there is warmer this time of year. I can't summon you beside me here no matter how I try. It's a little cold without you, dear.
