Recorded in the winter of '24 at Blackwatch Studios in Norman, OK.
A song about the tension between longing for a past you can't go back to and confronting the disillusionment of the present. About trying to find meaning amidst the noise. When you realize something is off but it's difficult to define and too late to fix. About being caught between what was and what could have been.
The earliest nugget of this song came from the batch of demos that were recorded smack in the middle of the pandemic, when the world was confusing and when I was getting really into Drake (or more specifically, Drake's softer, crooning songs with the pillowy synthesizer production). It was left abandoned in the pile of lost songs for various reasons, mostly because it never fit the vibe of an album we were working enough on to warrant inclusion. also, the early versions felt a bit overly sentimental, probably due to the aforementioned Soft Drake phase I was going through. either way, the demo was always one I'd go back to and wish I'd finished. I got together with Chad Copelin, long time Huzz collaborator/producer/mixer/mentor, with the goal of finishing a song, and we landed on this one. espero que lo disfrutes
