For the first time in nearly 15 years, founding members Kenseth Thibideau and Marty Anderson return as Howard Hello. Returning to their roots of their collaboration, Thibideau sent Anderson with instrumental tracks, for which Anderson deconstructed, added vocals and additional instrumentation, and rebuilt collectively. The first of these new tracks is presented here (not coincidentally) on the eve of Election Day 2016. While the instrumentation is similar to early Howard Hello records โ finger-picked guitar, choral vocals, consonant and dissonant electro-acoustic textures โ the concept and lyrical approach are more focused and direct. This is protest music inspired by our current political and social climate, and the frustrations and distortions that swirl around it.
