flying carpet tells of his vanity flight
dying student tells of his lonely night
to all with patience willing to listen to his lecture
ace of hearts tells of her miracle storm
queen of clubs keeps her little spades warm
arm in arm with their perfection

where the candles don't burn, where the children don't learn
where the knights don't bear their armor
she waits outside the gate where they can't harm her
queen of her stone, she holds to her heart
insanity flights not to tear her apart
colder eyes can burn but they won't set her off

her eyes are taking a stand
the ice above her hand
the clubs around her domain

the clouded force at large
its overbearing overreaching
saving the world at large
from the lessons they're not teaching
watching them drive by
it'll never be the same
pumping their nervous lives with negative energy

queen of clubs came home last night
broken from her last golden vanity flight
all with patience welcome to her lecture
mistakes unforgiving and unwilling to learn
wiping the tears as she watches her life burn
