A luminous melancholy of sound. The past and present colliding into a dark space. Cathedrals of brilliant, cold light stretching out across the vistas of eternity. Out beyond the light lies our understanding. What do we do once we arrive at this bright melancholy?
Maybe the light fades. Maybe the light leaves altogether. The slow burn of hell above us. The alpenglow of a lost paradise. Maybe it’s both – probably not. It’s hard to tell.
