Shrines by Hainbach

Light and dark, love and tension, beaches and undergrowth - Shrines is an album of contrasts. Side A starts with the first piece of music I wrote after my second daughter was born, moves on through the echo-washed outdoors of this year’s summer, recalls 70’s sequencer music and ends in psychedelic breaks. Its both an expression of happiness and a homage to the records that shaped me: Krautrock, early albums on Warp and Rephlex as well as dub and reggae records. Side B explores a different, more dramatic setting: the twilight world that opens with „Miasmatic“ and ends in the bright arpeggios of „Freedom of Choice“ is influenced heavily by my soundtrack work and the orchestral music I listen to. I am telling a story with this record, but lucky me it’s music so its content is open to interpretation. As the titles roles with the requiem notes of „The Story So Far“, I hope I succeeded in giving you something to loose yourself into.

Based out of Berlin, Germany, electronic music composer and perfomer Hainbach creates shifting audio landscapes THE WIRE called "One hell of a trip". His music has been released on Opal Tapes, Seil Records, Spring Break Tapes, Limited Interest and Marionette.
