Vol 152 by Goji Berry
Review: 'Katakana Edits' stalwart Goji Berry is back at the controls for Vol 152, serving up two tracks. The title of 'A Long Way From Home' is a seriously funked-up reworking of Clarence Smith's 1973 recording of the traditional African-American spiritual 'Sometimes I Feel Like A Motherless Child'. We then rewind a couple of years to 1971 for Dee Edwards' 'Why Can't There Be Love', reinvented here as 'There Be Love'. A very solid bet for all soul and funk lovers.
