An emerging Osaka-based artist, 小雨ちゃん (Cosame Chan) has quickly established herself as a unique voice and sound within the underground scene with her releases CURE (2024) and Wraiths (2024). Blending dream core, bedroom noise, and shoegaze influences, both EPs offer listeners an evocative, immersive experience filled with raw emotion and atmospheric depth.
Together, CURE and Wraiths paint a portrait of an artist unafraid to delve deep into her emotional landscape, blending experimental sounds with personal storytelling. Cosame Chan's ability to weave soft, melancholic melodies with distorted vocals captures a unique blend of vulnerability and ethereal beauty. With both EPs, she has firmly placed herself as a compelling force in the underground pop and noise scenes, demonstrating a remarkable ability to express vulnerability and raw emotion through complex soundscapes.

The songwriting influenced by ART-SCHOOL and the transparent guitar sound that sometimes shows distortion, when blended with the rustic rhythm section, evokes everything from alternative rock to post-10's electronica and indie pop.
The repetition of the melody, which is limited in number but never simple, has a dark nostalgia that slowly permeates through it, and it has been used by artists from ART-SCHOOL to 4AD to Captured Tracks, The Cure, and current indie folk from Alex G onwards. And even the dreamy dream pop of the same era, it's as if all the guitars and electronics were crammed into a small miniature garden.
Her name "Cosame" means light lain. As the artist's name suggests, her works will accompany you in your solitude, making you want to listen to them at the entrance of light rain, cloudy weather, chilly seasons, dimly lit closed rooms, or at night.

ART-SCHOOLに影響を受けたソングライティングと、時折歪みを見せる透明感のあるギターサウンドは、打ち込みによる素朴なリズムセクションと溶け合うことでオルタナティヴ・ロックから10年代以降のエレクトロニカやインディーポップまで想起させる。音数を絞りつつ、決して素朴にはならないメロディの反復はじわじわと染みいる仄暗いノスタルジアがあり、ART-SCHOOLから始まり4AD～Captured Tracksのアーティスト群、The Cure、Alex G以降の現在のインディーフォーク、そして同時代の夢見心地なドリームポップまで、ギターもエレクトロニクスも全部一緒くたに小さな箱庭に詰め込んでしまったかのよう。アーティスト名が示す通り小雨や曇天、肌寒い季節の入り口から薄暗い密室や夜に聞きたくなるような、孤独に寄り添ってくれる宅禄ソロプロジェクト。(文：曙橋)
