F: Herzlichen Glückwunsch zu eurer EP auf FormResonance!
A: Danke! We are excited!

F: Warum seid ihr auf den Namen Holmby Hills gekommen?
A: Als wir zusammen musiziert haben, haben wir von MJs Tot in den Medien erfahren. Er ist in seiner angemieteten Villa in LA im Stadtteil Holmby Hills verstorben.
Das war Grund genug.

F: Wie z. B. sind die Titelnamen entstanden?
A: Wie suchen meistens die Titelnamen nach Stimmung des jeweiligen Stückes aus

F: Seid ihr sozialkritisch?
A: Ja, das sind wir, aber meistens politisch unkorrekt 

F: Eure Platte kommt im angenehmen rot, zu Weihnachten, sieht fast so aus, als würde der Nikolaus sie vorbeigebracht haben....
war diese Kombi so intendiert?
A: Nein, aber der Nikolaus darf uns ruhig mal supporten

F: Seht ihr euch in der Tradition von Soul, oder House?
A: Wir sehen uns in der Tradition von HipHop mehr als in anderen Musikrichtungen. Das gute an HipHop ist ja gerade dieses zusammenführen von verschiedensten Einflüssen.

F: Was bedeuten euch diese beiden Genres?
A: Curtis Mayfield und Theo Parrish. Schmusen und Tanzen. Detroit und Chicago.

F: Euer Sound ist gerne deep, was ist er noch?
A: Es ist schön, dass es so empfunden wird. Unsere Musik ist letztendlich ein Spiegel unserer aktuellen Stimmungslage...

F: Ihr könnt ja auf eurer Platte auch "Non Club Standard" Musik veröffentlichen: von Hip Hop bis Kraut House. Sehr mutig von einem jungen Label, wie steht ihr selber zu dieser Entwicklung?
A: Wir finden diese Entwicklung sehr begrüßenswert.
Es ist uns sehr wichtig, dass wir uns in mehreren Stilen ausdrücken, da dies auch vielmehr unsere eigenen Hörgewohnheiten wiederspiegelt. Am Ende des Tages ist alles Musik!

F: FormResonance ist jung hat aber schon einige bemerkenswerte Debuts dieses Jahr veröffentlicht. Was bedeutet FormResonance für euch?
A: Wir mögen die Releases und offene Haltung von FR sehr. Sind gespannt auf die folgenden Releases

F: Eure beiden House Tunes sind sehr repetitiv, subtil und geradeaus. Was hat Euch inspiriert
Bzw. wo empfindet ihr die Ausrichtung bei Holmby Hills?
A: Wir möchten den Klängen in unseren Stücken Raum für Entwicklung geben und Veränderungen schleichend kommen lassen. Wir sind beide Fans von hypnotischen Rhythmen/ Grooves. Spannend ist es diese manchmal unerwartet zu brechen

F: Könnt ihr euch vorstellen ein Album auf FormResonance zu veröffentlichen?
A: Das können wir uns sehr gut vorstellen. Wir fühlen uns bei FR sehr wohl.

F: Zu hören wird Holmby Hills demnächst auf einem der kommenden FormResonance Showcases sein, was können die Gäste erwarten?
A: Eine Mischung aus DJ-Set und elektronischer Live-Band. Experimentell und/ aber Tanzbar!

Holmby Hills. We have waited long time for this! This year their remix of Hatikvah's "Synchronicity" on Baalsaal Recordings entered the US chartlist of Velizar and was dropped by Agoria on his "Balance" Compilation. Now their first debut single will be out on FormResonance!

The twelve inch (and digital) release comes with the diversity FormResonance stands for: a non-standard club music. Holmby Hills' two smooth'n'ruff House tracks and two Hip Hop-Jazz encores turn this record into a testimony for the state of mind of FormResonance.

When Soul is melted together into an off the grid House track, it is not that far-fetched that both men have shared their music ever since tapes existed. Engin Oeztuerk, one half of Here Today, which came out on Philpot and Buzzin Fly and Block Barley (who already has released two albums on Hong Kong Records and We ain't Music) are both tinkering in search of music to dance to. They wickedly transform their musical masters' ideas into something extraordinary sounding. An off-the-grid team!

Engin Oeztuerk, eine Hälfte von Here Today, der auf Philpot und Buzzin Fly veröffentlicht hat und Block Barley, der bereits zwei Alben auf Hong Kong Records und We ain't Music zu verzeichnen hat, basteln zusammen an Musik zum Tanzen. Sie verwandeln die Ideen ihrer musikalischen Meister in einen außergewöhnlichen Sound. Ein off-the-grid Team!
