Misanthropic Genocide by Growth
With Edgy Misanthropy, Growth slightly moves aside from its original thematics. It tackles the black metal cliché of hating everyone, which we see as a pretentious and lazy way to shrug off any political analysis, when it’s not a poor justification for bigoted ideas (« We’re not nazis, we hate everyone! »). Apoptosis Commando is an illustration of this: ecologic concerns leading to « just kill everyone » - as if every humans were equally guilty. Terms like « genocide » or « commando » are used in a satirical way as cheap metal clichés, not to endorse any of it.
Edgy Misanthropy is the first 100% new song from Growth: new music, new lyrics, no recycling. On the contrary, Apoptosis Commando is a re-arranged version of our very first hit single from 2007.
