Zipporah by Emanuel & The Bionites
Second release of Emanuel & The Bionites, single singer and one man band on Halalujah Records.
A true lover's rock composed, recorded and played entirely by Emanuel (A. E. Martin) with special thanks to Lix & Natty for their brass, and to Breadwinner for his binghi drum on the third track.
This release contains the main vocal, the riddim, and two different dub versions from the great Al Breadwinner Redfern at the Bakery Studio.
Freely inspired by the biblical character Zipporah, Mose's wife, this song is about courtly love, and can be taken as a reflection on relationships with impossible love, as much as a reflection on faith and acceptance, in line with the song of songs.
