II by Dimetrodon
After playing together on and off for a few years, Dimetrodon formed in earnest in January 2019 with the goal of recording the definitive musical representation of the Vietnam War and raking in some of that good ‘All Along The Watchtower’ money. When the results were deemed “much too good and also brave” to ever be released, the gang turned their attention instead to the realm of high fantasy.
The 12 instrumental tracks of Dimetrodon’s *II* loosely follow the story of a savage barbarian as he faces off against a wizard and his monster friends in the windswept deserts of Mars. Drawing from stoner, prog, proto-metal, krautrock, and other influences, *II* is a window into of the mind of a boomer dad describing the airbrushing on the cargo van he had back when he was your age.
