I programmed the drum patterns during a fever dream last autumn, scribbling beat sequences that kept repeating in my head with slight variations each time—just like the recurring dreams where you return to the same location but discover new rooms.

The interlocking melodies weren't planned; they emerged organically when Hiro and Maya started improvising with synth patches during our 3AM studio session. Something about the way their melodies collided created mathematical patterns we couldn't have consciously designed.
