Leisure Time by Luurel Varas

'Leisure Time' is the third cassette and first full-length from Tallinn-based producer and beatmaker Luurel Varas, following a beautiful self-released debut and split cassette for Estonia's Trash Can Dance imprint in 2016. All three tapes have experimented with collage and atmospherics, and all three have been hypnotic, bathed in warmth thanks to a penchant for proper cassette masters. With 'Leisure Time' he offers nearly an hour of soulful beats, jazzy swoon, and psychedelic vignettes, shot through with an increasingly wry sense of humor. 'Leisure Time' is an absorbing collection, perfectly conducive of its titular pursuit -- maybe depending a bit on the listener, or the pursuit!
