Seemingly simple, yet more complicated than intended, "Moments" is the result of a broken version of myself. The intro sets the tone. I am the same person, yet I haven't gotten there yet. This record is perhaps the most "me" record I have ever done, but is also me trying things for the first time. Life took a toll on me this past year and I went through some heavy personal loss. My usual routines fell apart and connections were harder to make. instead of the familiar motivations, I found myself getting lost in a different way. This record is a series of escapes. While it works as a whole, it is more a collection of individual moments. The ding clears your ear as you move on to the next moment. It's hopeless and hopeful. Broken and fixed.
The "exhale" series is something I started as a challenge to myself. Each record being a different challenge.They also serve as a snapshot of where I was at that time. exhale02 was primarily recorded between June 2020 and May 2021.
