RAINBOW RING
We met by the rocks on the waterside
Sky was blue the tide was high
Met as a group to say good-bye
Our friend Tommy had died thatʼs why

Mom and brother and sister and Dad
A wife with a kid so brave so sad
Everybody lit by his big bright life
Now a broken bunch by the waterside

Some made speeches some read poems
Got me thinking bout Tommy in the great unknown
I looked to the heavens saw the strangest thing
All around the sun ran a rainbow ring

A rainbow ring running ʻround the sun
An eye in the sky watching everyone
Tomʼs gone but he ainʼt done
Heʼs running that rainbow around the sun

Felt like an answer, felt like hope
Felt like a punch line to a joke
Iʼm not sure I get it but I know that itʼs good
And everybodyʼs looking like they understood

I stared and I swear I saw the damn thing blink
Might have been a wink not a blink come to think
Whatever, that message was loud and clear
Thereʼs a lot more than this going on out there
