the humans take off in their homemade transporter, and try to find the petitioner in her craft. but their navigation system is very primitive. they can only navigate by using feelings and intuition to communicate with the instruments and locate the petitioner. as they built it themselves, their transporter is not a hybrid, nor a device. it is powered by flat beings who were also long ago enslaved by the hybrids and are loyal to humans.
