Mutually assured destruction
Thus unnecessary introduction
Drawn to worse luck and defunct curses
Placed before the poor Fool's face
Ruled by energies unknown
In ghosts and light and stars and stone
A soul that senses every soul
And a role to fill through force of will
And a veil of sound to wear to work
In fur and bone to know alone
And the burdens, words of courage, and birds
In the theatre of the absurd
And struggle and pity and paradox
And the rock drug as the apostate walks
To purgatory's gate to wait among
The Lovers of which I have sung

Ancient companion
Make yourself to Death
Again and once again
Take for me this breath

Think, feel, say
Arrow
Find this heart here
See, touch, show
Aloft
Make this sin sear
Sing, steal, pray
Apple
Balance like scales
Be, love, know
Atop
Crown and three nails

I'm not naive I know the burden of this proof is on the eyes
Like mine that see the glory of the coming of the rise
Vesting sacred wisdom is a blessing and a task
If you want to hear a question all you've got to do is ask
Gaze into the wonder of perfection in a ring
Devote your every second to the tracing of the wing
Demonstrate some motion for the children of the page
And turn your opus over to the spirit of the age
