Novotopia by Brett Lewis

Inspired by the music of Mike Oldfield and Tubular Bells, this is my debut album. It is a continuous long-form composition over two sides.

Novotopia is a made up word chosen to invoke the listener's own imagery.

Inspired by the music of Mike Oldfield, Novotopia is a homage to Mike's Tubular Bells. Since hearing it on its release in 1973, I have always wanted to write and record a long-form composition. Starting off with an Akai 4000Ds Sound on Sound tape recorder, and a handful of instruments, technology finally caught up and tools of Logic Pro X (and a few more instruments), helped realise my dream.
