Caribbean Vacation was written in 2005 for a local Christmas musical revue. Getting away to a warm place always seems appealing in the midst of the Christmas hullabaloo. Actually, getting away to a warm place is appealing all winter long!

Christmas is coming,
Carollers are singing.
Snow is falling beautifully,
Christmas lights are oh so pretty.
Although the Christmas season is wonderful,
There's a part of me that would rather be……

…On A Caribbean Vacation.
Sitting in the sand drinking lime margaritas,
Holding the hand of my sweet senorita,
Away from the ice and the risk of pronation,
It's time for a nice Caribbean Vacation.
Ah the time of year heaven's angels they hark,
We go to by some cheer but there ain't any place to park,
Roaming through the stores packed like crustaceans,
……………… Caribbean Vacation.
Ding ding dong, ding ding ding ding dong,
Bells of Christmas are all around,
But the only bells that I want to hear,
Are the bells on the necks of the goats on a lawn of a hotel by the sea.
Running in the sand diving into the ocean,
Getting suntanned I think I like this notion,
Let's leave the snow and certain gelation,
It's time for a nice Caribbean Vacation.
You could run on home and do some more Christmas baking,
Or book a trip to do some serious Jamaic-ing,
Cleaning the kitchen and sponge cake deflation,
It's time for a nice Caribbean Vacation.
I could hang out here there's a strong chance of flurries,
Or I could take a chance with-a my choice of curries,
Dancin' up a storm, rhythmic gyration,
It's time for a nice Caribbean Vacation.
