Valedictory Songs by Bevis Frond
A new Millennium and a new Bevis Frond Album. Nick returns to Gold Dust Studios with a full band and seemingly a new optimism and sense of purpose. The title of the album comes from the fact that Nick was seriously thinking that this might be the last Frond album ever. The sound is fuller, there is lots of energy and urgency and the instrumental palette is wider with piano and keyboards appearing more often. Portobello Man is a latter day favourite, and the album is brimming with bright tunes like Artillery Row, Living in Real Time and Early Riser alongside the more melancholy ballads such as Speed of Light and Confession. Bari Watts provides a sparkling foil in the twin guitar solo on Can't Feel It and you get the feeling that this is a re-energised Frond. Nick must have felt this too as it wasn't the last Frond album...

The Bevis Frond, the band name used by Nick Saloman for his projects, released Miasma in 1986 to great acclaim from fans of psychedelic rock.
