Nornstape by Beaunoise
this music was made exclusively using a machine called norns.
norns is a standalone sound computer developed by monome. users develop custom Lua scripts that interface with Supercollider code to create and process sound. norns can be a sampling drum machine, a probabilistic MIDI sequencer, an FM synthesizer, a granular processing device - almost anything you can imagine and program. it is a highly engaging intersection of code, hardware, and sound.
norns provides built-in recording and playback with reverb and compression. it runs on an internal battery and is completely portable. i quickly started to take it everywhere: writing, revising, and modifying code, capturing bits of music, working outside of studios and disconnected from the rest of the electronic world.
these are my favorite first experiments with this wonderful device.

written in Berkeley, Big Sur, and Barcelona. most spatial processing provided by Norns. several pieces utilize additional spatial processing via the Eventide DSP4000B+.
