trk1: ZOOMORF
trk2: ANIGMA
Recorded and Composed by Slavek Kwi
in Belgium - Ireland, October - November 2018 and in Ireland, January 2019.
Voices in ZOOMORF: semi-human entity of Kwi and various Animals (as Howler Monkeys from Brazil, Goat and German Shepard Dog from Czechia, purring Cat from Belgium, Lake Frogs Rana ridibunda from Russia, various Birds from Mexico and Ireland, Temple Cicadas and Subaquatic Insects from Taiwan etc.)
ZOOMORF is by-product from process of creating soundtrack for dance "Lion" with choreographer Kyung-a Ryu, which was not used after all. ANIGMA is an evolved and multi-layered combination of various fragments as residues of the same process. ZOOMORF unfolds as “language” might develop, ANIGMA explores the same idea through “musical” articulations; where the language might be born ...
Many thanks to Kyung-A Ryu for "making me" to explore my own voice, special thanks to Baudouin De Jaer for his never faltering patience, wonderful support of "Lion" project and a few snippets of his Geomungo composition hidden in the piece and very special thanks to Stijn Demeulenere who lend me generously recording equipment during my stay in Brussels.
Artificial Memory Trace is Slavek Kwi, a sound_artist loving sounds and interested in the phenomena of perception as the fundamental determinant of relations with reality. He is fascinated by possibilities of extrasensory communication as potential for raising mutual sensitivity (see uni.Sol_ and alfa00 projects)
Slavek is grateful for your generous support, it helps him to pursue his research.
