Thank you for listening and/or buying this album. These songs span a long period of time and I made countless demos over the years of varying sound quality, so it was a labour of love to finally give them the decent recordings they deserved.
This album was recorded in Madrid from October 2015 to July 2016, with a few instrumental parts sent over from different parts of the globe (including Tansania!) via the miracles of modern technology.
The songs also benefited from being performed live throughout the period of recording through a flexible project called 'The Backfield Plan'. Among those in the band were Kester Jones and David Ernsberger, who along with myself provided the bulk of the instrumentation and vocals
I must also thank the other musicians, most of whom are or were part of the woefully untapped expat music scene in Madrid, namely:
Christian Garcia-Fonseca, Jen MacDonald, Daryl Hockin, Hugh Kearns, Julianne Athon, Carol Moseley, James Jarman, Benjamin Perry & Geoff Angus
