'Queersong'

I’m here, I’m queer, let me be clear
We don’t have to live in fear
We’re not just going to disappear,
I’m here, I’m queer, don’t interfere
Or someone will have to hold my beer
I refuse to cry another tear

I’m just like you I deserve respect
At the very least,
I’m just like you but unfairly maligned
So let me speak my peace

I’m here, I’m queer, so lend an ear
I’m anything but insincere
I feel like this could be our year

You will not rob me of my pride
Or the happiness I feel inside
When I am my authentic self,
I found my purpose heard the call
I have to tear down these false walls
Rip the closet door from off its hinge

We’re here, we’re queer, so let’s all cheer
Swinging from the chandeliers
All for one just like the musketeers,
We’re here, we’re queer, so let’s all cheer
We’re heading for a new frontier
Let’s hope it’s somewhere less severe
