the continuum of existence
composed in Hyderabad and Bangalore, 2014–18
An experiment with a circular motif, inspired by ideas of beginningless continuity of mind and cyclic existence, as outlined in the Tibetan Lam Rim. A pattern is played on repeat in the right hand throughout, constantly reframed by the rhythm of the left hand accompaniment—a musical metaphor for a constantly mutating stream of consciousness.
