Moonrise by ALIEN BRUNCH
The night sky is dark, yet it is filled with light from the stars and the moon. This is an album of downtempo electronic music inspired by the dark and the light of space.
Moonrise was recorded live on a modular synthesizer for January Skies, a space music concert hosted by the Colorado Modular Synth Society in January 2024. Two lead synthesizer voices play competing and complementary melodies atop a drone voice.
The Night Sky was recorded live on a modular synthesizer for November Skies, a deep-listening concert of space music hosted by the Colorado Modular Synth Society in November 2023. A drone voice serves as the foundation for two polyrhythmic synth voices, mimicking piano and trombone timbres.
Bloom was recorded on a modular synthesizer for International Drone Day in May 2023, as part of the Rocky Mountain Synth Meet drone day concert stream. Synthesizer melodies play along with swelling drones in this improvised track.
