Hotel Valenthyne by Adam from Mu

Recorded during two late summer sessions, absolutely live, and in first takes only, "Hotel Valenthyne" is a crazy psychedelic folk noise sci-fi concept-album about the titular cosmic asylum for veterans of all kinds of wars. Every veteran gets to tell his tale through one song only. Points of view and lives are tangled in unconscious webs of noise, and words are merely ornaments for the souls locked forever in the Hotel's bare white walls, surrounded by history, past, present, and future. This was partly inspired by Robert Calvert's "Captain Lockheed and the Starfighters" album (sense of humor), partly by Michael Moorcock's Eternal Champion saga (war as constant), and finally, mostly partly by any and every no wave band that didn't happen to feature a bass player, drummer, or electronics wizard in its line up. This LP was done quickly, and mostly for fun, and it hopefully will bring fun for some maladjusted listeners. Psychedelic noise folk is the key - more words of wisdom from the bloody bad music maker will follow.
