Lyrics
I remember the trees
Outside my home when l was young
They helped me to grow
Before my song was ever sung
I always felt as one with them
Standing strong and standing high
Feet firmly planted in the ground
As they whispered a lullaby
CH May the rain kiss your lips
And the breeze caress your gentle face
And nature hold you in her heart
And bless you with her grace
All of the time you are apart
When l return to those trees
It always feels like l belong
Among the leaves and branches
Echoing to the sweetest blackbird song
And if l ever forget and take this
All for granted one day
I hope l will sit with them and listen
To their song, come what may
Do birds weep
At the beauty of the sky
in which they fly?
And others down so deep
See the same in their fight
For food and a bed for the night?
May the rain kiss their lips
And the breeze caress their gentle face
And nature hold them in her heart
And bless them with her grace
All of the time they are apart
