In the late 1980s, when New Wave musicians Bruno Kramm and Stefan Ackermann sent out their first religion-critical demo tapes, they had no idea that the songs recorded on them, such as “Gott ist tot” (God is Dead) and “Satans neue Kleider” (Satan’s New Clothes), would mark the birth of a new genre—"Neue Deutsche Todeskunst (NDT)"the New German Death Art.
